About Ryan:
I was born in Columbia, MO on Feb. 13, 1977. My mother Joyce Bennett and step-father
William Bennett live in Otterville, MO.
My father Robert Gerling and step-mother Connie Gerling live in Boonville, MO. I have
a younger brother Michael, younger sister Jill, and step-brother Paul.
I graduated from from Hickman High School in Columbia in 1995. I then attended Grinnell College
in Iowa where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science in 1999.
After college I started an e-Commerce Web business, known as TUG Internet, with my friends
Jeremy Tolbert and Roy Huggins. After about 2 years with moderate success, we decided we were
tired of the ups and downs of running a business and closed shop.
I then moved back to Columbia, MO in 2001 and started working for Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance.
I have been working there as a Software Developer for almost 7 years now.
Sarah and I met through Match.com, started dating, and fell in love. We got engaged
while vacationing on a cruise ship in the Caribbean this summer (Aug. 2007).
